Stereolithography (SLA) 3D printing is one of the earliest and most popular additive manufacturing technologies. It uses a laser to cure liquid resin into solid layers, constructing a 3D object with high precision and smooth surface finishes. After printing, the part is removed from the build chamber, cleaned of supports and excess resin (usually with isopropyl alcohol), and then cured in a UV oven to achieve optimal physical properties.
SLA can only be used with photosensitive polymers, but offers high accuracy and relative fine details.
High Precision and Details: SLA is renowned for its ability to produce highly detailed parts with fine features, making it ideal for creating prototypes, models, and intricate designs.
Smooth Surface Finish: The process delivers a smooth surface finish, often requiring minimal post-processing, which is particularly beneficial for aesthetic prototypes and visual models.
Versatile Material Options:SLA 3D printing offers a variety of photosensitive resin materials, including those that mimic the properties of different plastics and ceramics, making it versatile for various applications. |
Rapid Prototyping:SLA is widely used for creating detailed prototypes that closely resemble the final product, allowing for accurate testing and design validation.
Master Patterns for Silicone Molding:Due to its smooth surface, dimensional stability, and fine detail capabilities, SLA is ideal for producing master patterns used in silicone molding processes.
Medical Models:The technology is ideal for producing highly accurate anatomical models for surgical planning and medical device development.
Jewelry and Art:SLA’s precision makes it perfect for crafting intricate jewelry designs, art pieces, and other decorative items. |
Ideal for strong, durable parts with intricate geometries without needing support structures.
